Department of General Surgery
The General Surgery department at VKM excels in the management of both elective and emergency surgical procedures. The department provides round the clock emergency services for trauma and road traffic accident victims; in combination with department of Orthopaedics. The services offered for elective surgical conditions include an array of open, minimally invasive (Laproscopic) and endoscopic modalities. The surgical team is backed by dedicated operating rooms and specialized ICUs for trauma patients, post-operative cases as well as other surgical diseases. Last but not the least, VKM also has a team of experienced paramedical and support staff to complete the surgical team. The major services include:-
- Soft tissue repair and other procedures for trauma patients
- Open general surgical procedures: appendix, hernia, thyroid, breast etc.
- Gastro-intestinal surgeries: emergency and elective
- Basic and advanced laparoscopic procedures
- Endoscopy and colonoscopy
